Cake is an American alternative rock band from Sacramento, California, active since 1991. Built around singer John McCrea and trumpeter Vince DiFiore, the band blends rock, country, funk, mariachi and hip-hop into a sound instantly recognizable for its deadpan vocals, wry lyrics and prominent trumpet lines. Their 1996 album Fashion Nugget went platinum on the strength of 'The Distance' and a cover of 'I Will Survive', and their 2011 record Showroom of Compassion debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.
Guitarist Xan McCurdy told Guitar World he is 'very confident' a new Cake album will arrive by 2026, possibly in early 2026.
