About

Camille Claudel (1864-1943) was a French sculptor whose work spent decades overshadowed by her teacher and partner Auguste Rodin. She produced a number of striking pieces, including La Valse and L'Âge mûr. Her family had her committed to a psychiatric institution, where she remained for the last thirty years of her life.
