Yusuf / Cat Stevens (born Steven Demetre Georgiou, 21 July 1948) is a British singer-songwriter whose folk and pop albums of the early 1970s - Tea for the Tillerman, Teaser and the Firecat, Catch Bull at Four - made him one of the defining voices of his generation. He converted to Islam in 1977, took the name Yusuf Islam, and stepped away from the music industry for nearly three decades before returning to secular recording in 2006. With over 100 million records sold and more than two billion streams, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
Yusuf / Cat Stevens officially canceled his North American book tour after performance visas arrived after the last scheduled tour date had passed.
His memoir Cat on the Road to Findout was published in the UK on 2 October and in North America on 7 October 2025.
A career-spanning compilation, On the Road to Findout: Greatest Hits, was released on 17 September 2025 to accompany the memoir.
Yusuf appeared at BST Hyde Park in London on 11 July 2025 as special guest to Neil Young.
Yusuf made his Glastonbury Festival debut in June 2023, performing in the Sunday legends slot on the Pyramid Stage to widespread critical acclaim.
