About

Conchita Wurst is the stage persona of Austrian singer Tom Neuwirth (born 1988 in Gmunden), a bearded drag character he first brought to the public in 2011. His Eurovision Song Contest 2014 victory with "Rise Like a Phoenix" made him an internationally recognised symbol of LGBTQ+ rights and tolerance, earning him invitations to perform at the European Parliament and the United Nations. Beyond pop music, Neuwirth hosts television programmes, works with classical orchestras, and continues to expand his artistic range - most recently with the new stage persona "Frau Thomas".
