Cosmic Gate is a Grammy-nominated German trance act from Krefeld, founded in 1999 by Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (Bossi) after the two met in a Cologne studio. Over more than two decades they released eleven studio albums and became one of Germany's most enduring electronic music exports, peaking at #19 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs chart. In February 2026, Bossi stepped away from touring and left the project; Nic Chagall now carries the Cosmic Gate name forward as a solo artist, with new music already in development.
