Czerwone Gitary ("The Red Guitars") is a Polish rock band founded on 3 January 1965 in Gdańsk, widely regarded as one of the most important acts in the history of Polish popular music. Dubbed the "Polish Beatles" by the press of the era, they sold record numbers of albums in the late 1960s and received the MIDEM award in Cannes in 1969 - the same year as the Beatles. After a long hiatus through the 1980s the band reformed in 1991 and has been touring Poland and the Polish diaspora abroad ever since.
Czerwone Gitary launched their 'Diamentowa Trasa 60-lecia' (Diamond Tour) on 3 January 2025, marking the band's 60th anniversary with a nationwide Polish concert series.
The 60th-anniversary tour was extended as 'Diamentowa Trasa 60-lecia na BIS', with concerts continuing through 2026 across dozens of Polish cities.
Co-founder and drummer Jerzy Skrzypczyk stated the band planned around 100 concerts in 2025 alone as part of the 60th-anniversary celebrations.
In January 2025, a square near the legendary Cristal café in Gdańsk - where the band was founded - was named after Czerwone Gitary, following the honour granted in 2020 for their 55th anniversary.
The 'Diamentowa Trasa na BIS' continued into spring 2026, with confirmed shows in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Zielona Góra, Jelenia Góra, Lipno and other cities.
