Rymden - Wesseltoft, Berglund, Eström
Scandinavian jazz trio Rymden plays at Nica Jazz Club in Hamburg.
Dan Berglund (born 1963, Pilgrimstad, Sweden) is a Swedish upright bassist and composer, best known as a founding member of the Esbjörn Svensson Trio (E.S.T.), one of the most influential European jazz groups of the 1990s and 2000s. After E.S.T. disbanded following Esbjörn Svensson's death in 2008, Berglund went on to lead the avant jazz-rock band Tonbruket and, from 2017, to co-found the Scandinavian trio Rymden alongside Norwegian pianist Bugge Wesseltoft and drummer Magnus Öström.
Rymden announced a new album is in preparation and launched a European tour to support it, with more dates planned into 2027.
Rymden is currently touring across 4 countries with 12 upcoming concerts, opening with Hamburg on October 4, 2026.
Dan Berglund released a new single titled 'Under Attack' in 2025.
The album e.s.t. 30 was released in June 2024, documenting anniversary concerts in which Berglund and Öström performed E.S.T. material with a guest ensemble.
Rymden released two records in 2023: the studio album 'Valleys and Mountains' and the live collaboration 'Rymden + KORK' with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.
