David Duchovny (born 1960, New York) is an American actor, writer, and singer-songwriter best known for playing FBI agent Fox Mulder in The X-Files - a role that earned him two Golden Globe Awards. He picked up the guitar only in his early fifties and released his debut album Hell or Highwater in 2015; his music draws on folk, roots-rock, and Americana, with critics comparing him to Wilco and the Wallflowers.
