Dea Matrona is a Belfast-based Irish rock duo formed by Mollie McGinn and Orláith Forsythe, who write, record and produce all their music themselves. They built their following through years of street busking and relentless touring before their self-released debut album 'For Your Sins' (2024) hit number one on the UK Independent Album Breakers chart. Their second album 'Hate That I Care' (June 2026, AWAL) marks a sharper move into alt-rock, with the duo having shared stages with Sting, Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain and Bryan Adams along the way.
Dea Matrona released their second studio album 'Hate That I Care' on 5 June 2026 via AWAL, a ten-track alt-rock record written, recorded and produced entirely by the band.
Alongside the album release, the duo announced a UK and Ireland headline tour for late 2026, including a date at Islington Assembly Hall in London.
Dea Matrona completed a European headline tour in March 2026, with dates in Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Paris, Rotterdam and Brussels among others.
The duo released the single 'Magic Spell' on 17 October 2025 via AWAL, a track they self-wrote and self-produced, and announced a sold-out UK and Ireland headline tour for November 2025.
While releasing 'Magic Spell', the band confirmed they had already planned their entire second album on the same day they wrote the single.
