About

Death Angel is a Filipino-American thrash metal band from the San Francisco Bay Area, active since 1982 and one of the genre's founding voices alongside Testament and Exodus. Their 1987 debut The Ultra-Violence - recorded when drummer Andy Galeon was just 14 - and the 1990 major-label album Act III established them as Bay Area legends. After disbanding in 1991 following a serious tour-bus accident, the band reunited in 2001 and has released five more studio albums, earning a Grammy nomination for Humanicide (2019).
