About

Depeche Mode are an English electronic band formed in Basildon, Essex in 1980, whose core members Dave Gahan and Martin Gore built one of the most distinctive sounds in pop history - dark, synth-driven, and emotionally raw. Albums like Violator (1990) and Songs of Faith and Devotion (1993) brought them global mainstream success, and they have since sold over 100 million records worldwide. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, the band continues as a duo following the death of co-founding keyboardist Andy Fletcher in May 2022.
