Le nozze di Figaro is a four-act opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, first performed in Vienna in 1786. Lorenzo Da Ponte wrote the libretto based on Beaumarchais's comedy. The opera follows one hectic day in the lives of Figaro and Susanna and remains one of the most frequently performed works in the operatic canon.
