Dirk Maassen (born 28 February 1970 in Aachen) is a German neoclassical pianist and composer based in Ulm. Self-taught beyond early church lessons, he built a following online after returning to solo piano around 2010 - his recordings went viral on SoundCloud and Spotify, making him one of the most-streamed piano composers worldwide. In 2019 he signed with Sony Classical, releasing a string of albums including Ocean (2020), Echoes (2021), Time (2022), Here and Now (2023), and Inception (2024), the last of which he produced independently after parting ways with the label.
