About

Dirty Three are an Australian instrumental trio - violinist Warren Ellis, guitarist Mick Turner, and drummer Jim White - who formed in Melbourne in 1992. Across nine albums, from the raw debut Sad & Dangerous (1994) through the acclaimed Horse Stories (1996) and Ocean Songs (1998) to the 2024 return Love Changes Everything, they have built a body of work that sits somewhere between post-rock, folk, and free improvisation. Ellis is also a long-standing member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, which has brought the band wider international recognition.
