Django Reinhardt was a Belgian Romani jazz guitarist and one of the pioneers of European jazz. Together with violinist Stéphane Grappelli, he developed the style known as gypsy swing (manouche). Despite a permanent injury to his left hand, his virtuosic playing influenced generations of guitarists worldwide.
