Djavan Caetano Viana (born 27 January 1949 in Maceió, Brazil) is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music weaves together samba, jazz and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) into a style entirely his own. Active since the mid-1970s, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest voices in Brazilian music history - his compositions have been recorded by Al Jarreau, Carmen McRae and The Manhattan Transfer, and Stevie Wonder played harmonica on his track "Samurai". His 1999 live double album Ao Vivo sold 1.2 million copies and earned him a Diamond Record.
The biographical stage musical "Djavan - O Musical: Vidas pra Contar" returned to São Paulo for a second season, having already toured nine Brazilian cities since its June 2025 premiere.
Djavan launched his "Djavanear 50 Anos. Só Sucessos" anniversary tour in Brazil, opening at Allianz Parque in São Paulo and continuing through stadiums and arenas across the country.
