Dorothee Oberlinger (born 1969 in Aachen) is a German recorder player, conductor, and professor who ranks among the most influential figures in early music today. She founded Ensemble 1700 in 2002 and has led it through acclaimed recordings and a growing series of staged Baroque opera productions. Since 2004 she has held a professorship at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, and she directs two major German early music festivals - the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci and the Bad Arolsen Baroque Festival. Her awards include the Opus Klassik 2020 (Instrumentalist of the Year), the ECHO Klassik, the Diapason d'Or, and the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, awarded by the German President in 2021.
