About

Dr. Feelgood are an English pub rock band formed in 1971 on Canvey Island, Essex, whose raw, stripped-back R&B - driven by Wilko Johnson's staccato guitar and Lee Brilleaux's menacing vocals - made them the leading force of the British pub rock scene and a direct precursor to punk. Their 1976 live album Stupidity went straight to number one on the UK Albums Chart, and their 1979 single 'Milk and Alcohol' remains their only UK Top 10 hit. Despite Brilleaux's death in 1994 and the departure of all original members, the band continues to tour and record, releasing the all-original album Damn Right! in November 2022.
