Draconian is a Swedish gothic doom metal band formed in 1994 in Säffle, active on Napalm Records since their 2003 debut. The band's sound pairs Anders Jacobsson's death-metal growls with expressive clean female vocals - a contrast that has made them one of the most distinctive names in the genre. Over eight studio albums, founding members Jacobsson and guitarist/composer Johan Ericson have steered the band from melodic death-metal roots toward a darker, more cinematic doom sound.
