Dropkick Murphys
Irish punk rock band Dropkick Murphys perform at the Tollwood festival in Munich.
Dropkick Murphys are a Celtic punk band from Quincy, Massachusetts, formed in 1996, who built their sound by fusing Boston hardcore with Irish folk instrumentation - bagpipes, tin whistle, accordion. Their 2005 track "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" reached a global audience after appearing in Martin Scorsese's Oscar-winning film The Departed, and the band has since logged four consecutive Billboard Top 10 album debuts and over half a billion streams. Known for ferociously energetic live shows and a strong working-class ethos, they have headlined arenas worldwide and run an annual St. Patrick's Day residency in Boston that draws fans from across the globe.
Dropkick Murphys and Haywire released the split LP New England Forever on March 17, 2026, on Dummy Luck Records, first made available as an exclusive 12" vinyl during their St. Patrick's Day tour.
The band released "Citizen I.C.E." as a single on February 4, 2026 - a reworking of their 2005 track "Citizen C.I.A." written in response to ICE enforcement actions in the United States.
Dropkick Murphys launched their "For the People...In the Pit" St. Patrick's Day Tour on February 9, 2026, marking the band's 30th anniversary with a US run culminating in a Boston residency.
The physical edition of the album For the People - including five bonus tracks not on the July 4 digital release - came out on October 10, 2025 on vinyl and CD.
Dropkick Murphys headed to Europe for a fall headlining tour with Frank Turner and Haywire, kicking off October 15 in Milan.
