About

Dschinghis Khan is a German Eurodisco-pop group formed in Munich in 1979 by producer Ralph Siegel for the Eurovision Song Contest, where their debut single placed 4th for West Germany. The six-member original lineup - mixing German, Hungarian, Dutch and South African performers - scored hits across Europe, Russia and Japan with songs built around historical figures and exotic cultures, selling over 20 million records worldwide. After disbanding in 1985 and a 2005 reunion, the group was relaunched in 2023 under Siegel's management with a new cast, continuing to tour and release new material.
