Eagles of Death Metal is an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, founded in 1998 by Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme - the latter also known as the frontman of Queens of the Stone Age. Despite the name, their sound is a raw mix of garage rock, boogie rock and blues rock, with no death metal in sight. The band became internationally known after a terrorist attack struck their sold-out show at the Bataclan in Paris on 13 November 2015, killing 89 people in the audience, including the band's merchandise manager; the musicians escaped through a backstage exit.
Eagles of Death Metal played four headline shows in Germany in June 2025 (Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Cologne), with Scott Shiflett filling in for Josh Homme.
In December 2024, the band announced a summer 2025 European tour, including festival slots at Hellfest and Resurrection Fest.
The band's official website stated that a brand-new studio album was in the works for a worldwide release in 2025.
The band announced a 'Death by Sexy' 20th anniversary European tour for 2026.
The covers album 'Eagles of Death Metal Presents Boots Electric Performing The Best Songs We Never Wrote' was released in June 2019, followed by a sold-out European headline tour.
