Eluveitie is a Swiss folk metal band from Winterthur, founded in 2002 by Chrigel Glanzmann, who set out to fuse Gothenburg-style melodic death metal with ancient Celtic folk melodies and instruments - bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, fiddle and tin whistle. Signed to Nuclear Blast in 2007, they broke through with the album Slania (2008) and have since released nine studio albums, building a loyal following across Europe and beyond. Their lyrics draw heavily on Celtic mythology and the ancient Gaulish language, giving the band a distinct identity within the metal scene.
Eluveitie released their ninth studio album 'Ànv' on 25 April 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records.
The band launched the 'ÁNV RISING - EUROPE' headline tour in January 2025, with Infected Rain and Ad Infinitum as support acts.
Eluveitie joined Arch Enemy, Amorphis and Gatecreeper on a co-headlining European tour in autumn 2025.
Nuclear Blast released a deluxe edition of the 2019 album 'Ategnatos' in November 2024, featuring three new acoustic versions.
Lea-Sophie Fischer joined the band in May 2024 as the new hurdy-gurdy player and violinist, replacing departing members Annie Riediger and Nicole Ansperger.
