Engelbert Humperdinck (born Arnold George Dorsey, 2 May 1936, Madras, India) is a British pop singer who broke through in 1967 with "Release Me" - a single that spent 56 consecutive weeks on the UK charts and reached number one in 11 countries. Known as the "King of Romance", he has sold over 140 million records across a career of more than six decades, earning four Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe, and stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Las Vegas Walk of Fame. He adopted his stage name from the 19th-century German opera composer.
Humperdinck released the new single "I've Got You" via Silver Blue Records/Sony Orchard ahead of his 90th birthday, reuniting with producer Joel Diamond 50 years after their collaboration on "After the Lovin'".
"I've Got You" reached number one on Amazon Music in the US and charted in the UK, marking Humperdinck's return to the charts 60 years after his first hit.
Humperdinck turned 90 on 2 May 2026 and launched The Celebration Tour 2026, with over 50 international dates spanning New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, Germany, Austria, the US, and Canada.
Two new albums are planned for 2026, including a project featuring Humperdinck's reinterpretations of rock classics.
Humperdinck released the album "All About Love" in 2023, covering songs by Barry White and the Bee Gees; a deluxe tour edition followed in 2025.
