About

Verka Serduchka is the drag persona of Ukrainian comedian and actor Andriy Danylko (born 1973 in Poltava), who first brought the character to a Poltava theater stage in 1991. The act blends eurodance, folk-pop and sharp comedy, built around an extravagant silver-star costume and the ever-present stage 'mother' played by actress Inna Bilokon. Danylko represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2007 with 'Dancing Lasha Tumbai', finishing second with 235 points - one of the contest's most iconic performances. He holds the title of People's Artist of Ukraine and has sold over 600,000 records.
