Erkan Oğur (born 17 April 1954, Ankara) is a Turkish musician who invented the first fretless classical guitar in 1976, fundamentally changing how Turkish folk melodies could be rendered on the instrument. He is equally regarded as a master of the kopuz and bağlama lutes, and his compositions bridge Anatolian folk traditions with jazz, blues and contemporary world music. His soundtrack for the 2004 film Yazı Tura won both the Golden Orange at the Antalya Film Festival and the Best Music prize at the Ankara International Film Festival.
Oğur released his solo album 'Sakla' on Kalan Müzik, a 15-track record produced by Nilüfer Saltık featuring reinterpretations of classical Anatolian poets alongside his own compositions.
Oğur and İsmail Hakkı Demircioğlu performed at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto (rescheduled from June 2024), presenting a programme of ancient and contemporary Anatolian folk songs.
Oğur received a special honorary award at the 3rd Izmir International Film and Music Festival in recognition of his contributions to music.
