Sigrid Horn & Ernst Molden - kuaz vuan weda
A duet of Austrian artists Sigrid Horn and Ernst Molden presenting their joint musical project.
Ernst Molden (born 1967 in Vienna) is an Austrian singer-songwriter, author and journalist whose songs in Viennese dialect weave together folk, blues and the city's own musical tradition. A grandson of Paula von Preradović - who wrote the lyrics to the Austrian national anthem - he comes from one of Vienna's most prominent literary families, and that literary sensibility runs through everything he does, from his novels and essays to his stage works at the Burgtheater and Rabenhof. He has won the Amadeus Austrian Music Award multiple times and received the German Liederpreis for 'Ho Rugg', named the most significant German-language song of 2015.
The album 'mei liab' received a nomination for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2026 in the World/Blues/Jazz category.
Molden released 'mei liab' with the Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln on 4 April 2025, a 14-track album dedicated entirely to the love song.
The Falter described 'mei liab' as dedicated to his wife Veronika, combining newly written pieces with older songs arranged by the Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln.
Molden also released two further albums in 2025: 'kuaz vuan weda' and a live recording 'Live im Stadtsaal' featuring the late Willi Resetarits, Walther Soyka and Hannes Wirth.
Molden performed with the Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln at André Heller's Vienna evening at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg in March 2024.
