About

Extrawelt is a Hamburg-based electronic duo formed by Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe, who have been active in the electronic music scene since the early 1990s under various aliases including Midi Miliz and Spirallianz. The project launched in 2004 with a debut on James Holden's Border Community label, and has since released six studio albums - primarily on Cocoon Recordings - earning the duo Best Album and Best Live Act awards from Germany's Groove magazine in 2008. Their sound resists easy genre labels, weaving melodic depth and cinematic tension through techno and electronica.
