Eyehategod is an American sludge metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana, formed in 1988 by guitarist Jimmy Bower and drummer Joey LaCaze. Widely credited as one of the architects of the genre, they fused Black Sabbath-style doom riffs with hardcore punk aggression and blues grit, producing a sound that influenced a generation of heavy bands. Their catalog spans six studio albums, from the 1992 debut 'In the Name of Suffering' through the 2021 Century Media release 'A History of Nomadic Behavior', and they remain one of the most relentlessly touring acts in underground metal.
