FloFilz is the alias of Florian Meier, a beatmaker and producer from Aachen, Germany, now based in Berlin. Classically trained on the violin from age four, he taught himself production via YouTube tutorials and has since built a catalogue of jazz-inflected, sample-driven hip-hop across labels including Melting Pot Music, Jakarta Records and Radio Juicy. His collaborators range from MF DOOM and Alfa Mist to Loyle Carner and Biig Piig, and his album 'Close Distance' (2022) drew support from BBC 6 Music, Rolling Stone and Vogue Italy.
FloFilz released his album 'Hagaki 葉書' on September 12, 2025 via Melting Pot Music, inspired by a trip to Tokyo and featuring collaborations with trumpeter Takuya Kuroda and vocalist Nao Yoshioka.
FloFilz was featured in Wonderland Magazine in April 2025, discussing his EP 'Dim Down' and its collaborators including Kojey Radical and Jerome Thomas.
His album 'Close Distance' (Melting Pot Music, 2022) received support from BBC 6 Music, Rolling Stone and Vogue Italy, marking a step toward a more hi-fi sound.
