Banned From Utopia - Music Of Frank Zappa
A tribute to Frank Zappa's music performed by Banned From Utopia. An energetic concert featuring intricate arrangements and virtuosic musicianship.
Frank Zappa (1940-1993) was an American composer, guitarist, satirist and record producer whose output defied easy classification - spanning rock, jazz, orchestral music and avant-garde experimentation across more than 60 albums released in his lifetime. He led the Mothers of Invention from 1965 and self-produced nearly his entire catalog, while also directing films, designing album covers and testifying before the U.S. Senate against music censorship in 1985. Posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997, he remains one of the most singular and influential figures in 20th-century music, with a particularly devoted following in Europe.
