Gang Starr is an American hip-hop duo from New York, formed by rapper Guru and DJ/producer DJ Premier. Active primarily from the late 1980s through the 2000s, they are considered pioneers of jazz-rap and East Coast hip-hop, known for albums such as Step in the Arena and Moment of Truth.
