Genesis Owusu (born Kofi Owusu-Ansah, 1998, Koforidua, Ghana) is a Ghanaian-Australian rapper and multi-instrumentalist based in Canberra. His 2021 debut album Smiling with No Teeth swept the ARIA Awards - taking Album of the Year, Best Hip Hop Release, Best Independent Release and Best Cover Art - and made him the first Black hip-hop artist to win ARIA Album of the Year. Across three albums he has built a restless, genre-crossing catalogue that pulls together punk, funk, hip-hop, soul and experimental electronics.
