Geoffrey Rush is an Australian actor born in 1951, best known for his Oscar-winning role as pianist David Helfgott in Shine (1996). He has a wide range spanning theatre and film, with memorable roles in the Pirates of the Caribbean series and Shakespeare in Love. He is one of the few performers to have won all four major acting awards - Oscar, Emmy, Tony and BAFTA.
