About

Gilla Band are a Dublin noise-rock quartet - vocalist Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan Borges, bassist Daniel Fox and drummer Adam Faulkner - formed in 2011 and formerly known as Girl Band. Signed to Rough Trade in 2015, they built a reputation for confrontational live shows and a sound that fuses effects-heavy guitars with techno-influenced rhythms. Their debut album Holding Hands with Jamie (2015) drew widespread critical acclaim, and two further records - The Talkies (2019) and Most Normal (2022) - cemented their place as one of the most original guitar acts to emerge from Ireland in the past decade.
