LATiN KiNGS Hamburg - The best of Gipsy Kings
LATiN KiNGS Hamburg performs the best-loved songs of Gipsy Kings in this tribute concert.
Gipsy Kings are a French group from Arles and Montpellier, formed in 1979 from two related Romani families - the Reyes brothers (sons of flamenco singer José Reyes) and their cousins the Baliardos. Singing mostly in Spanish, they fused Catalan rumba, flamenco and pop into a sound that broke into the global mainstream with their 1987 self-titled album, which spent 40 weeks on the US charts. Their Grammy-winning album Savor Flamenco (2013) and worldwide sales of around 20 million records confirm their place as the best-selling French music act in history. Today the band tours in two parallel lineups - Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes and Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo.
A feature documentary about Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo, directed by Joel Van der Molen, was submitted to festivals; the film also serves as a tribute to founding member Paco Baliardo, who passed away during production.
Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo launched the 'Historia Tour', with dates across the US, Croatia, Romania and Norway through summer 2026.
Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes is currently touring across 8 countries with 45 upcoming concerts, including stops in Rome, Newbury, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Amsterdam.
Tonino Baliardo released the album Renaissance under the name Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo.
