About

Giselle is a two-act Romantic ballet with music by Adolphe Adam, first performed in Paris in 1841. The story follows a young peasant girl who dies of a broken heart and, as a spirit, shields her beloved from the vengeful Wilis. It has remained a cornerstone of the classical ballet repertoire ever since its premiere.
