Glen Hansard is an Irish singer-songwriter and guitarist from Dublin, best known as the frontman of The Frames and one half of the Oscar-winning duo The Swell Season with Czech pianist Markéta Irglová. His song "Falling Slowly", written for John Carney's low-budget 2007 film Once, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and brought him global recognition. As a solo artist since 2012, he has released five studio albums that draw on folk, rock and soul, and he is widely regarded as one of the most compelling live performers of his generation.
