About

Grave Digger is a German heavy metal band founded in November 1980 in Gladbeck by vocalist Chris Boltendahl and guitarist Peter Masson. Active for over four decades, they are counted among the "big four" of the German heavy/power metal scene alongside Helloween, Rage and Running Wild. Boltendahl remains the sole constant member through numerous line-up changes, steering the band from raw speed metal roots toward epic concept albums and back again. Their 2025 release "Bone Collector" marks the band's 45th anniversary and a deliberate return to old-school heavy metal.
