Gustavo Dudamel is a Venezuelan conductor and music director of the New York Philharmonic from 2026. He built his international reputation during more than fifteen years at the helm of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. His musical roots lie in El Sistema, the Venezuelan youth music education programme in which he was trained.
