About

The Mass in B minor (BWV 232) by Johann Sebastian Bach is a large-scale vocal and instrumental work completed shortly before the composer's death in 1749. It sets the Latin Catholic Mass ordinary - Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei - and is widely regarded as one of the greatest achievements of Baroque music. Bach himself was Lutheran, which makes the choice of the Catholic rite all the more remarkable.
