Hanoch Levin (1943–1999) was an Israeli playwright, director, and poet, widely regarded as one of the most important figures in 20th-century Israeli theatre. His plays are known for their satirical view of society, absurdist humour, and frank treatment of sexuality, death, and human pettiness. He wrote over fifty plays during his lifetime.
