Heinz Strunk (born Mathias Halfpape, 1962 in Bevensen) is a German writer, musician and actor based in Hamburg. He first gained wide attention with the autobiographical debut novel "Fleisch ist mein Gemüse" (2004) and reached a new peak with "Der goldene Handschuh" (2016), which spent months on the bestseller list and was adapted for cinema by Fatih Akin, screening in competition at the Berlinale. Together with Jacques Palminger and Rocko Schamoni he forms the comedy trio Studio Braun; as a performer he plays saxophone, flute and accordion.
