Holding Absence are a Welsh post-hardcore band from Cardiff, formed in 2015 and currently comprising vocalist Lucas Woodland, guitarist Scott Carey, and bassist Benjamin Elliott. They built a following through three albums on SharpTone Records - culminating in 'The Noble Art of Self Destruction' (2023) - and broke one million monthly listeners on Spotify along the way. Their song 'Afterlife' has surpassed 30 million streams, and the UK press, including Kerrang! and Rock Sound, has repeatedly put them on their covers. In 2026 the band signed with Sumerian Records and announced their fourth album, 'Modern Life Is Lonely', due August 28.
