Hugh Cornwell (born 1949, London) is an English musician, singer-songwriter and writer, best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter of the punk and new wave band The Stranglers, which he co-founded in 1974 and left in 1990. During those sixteen years he wrote the band's most enduring songs across ten studio albums. Since going solo he has released a further ten albums and continues to tour regularly.
Cornwell announced 'Never Say Goodbye - The Final Solo Acoustic Tour', a series of intimate UK shows with Q&A sessions running throughout November 2026.
A Newport date was added to the 'Never Say Goodbye' tour on 6 November 2026 after the initial announcement.
Cornwell is scheduled to perform at the Soundedit '26 festival in Łódź, Poland on 25 October 2026.
Cornwell completed a 10-date UK 'Come And Get Some Tour' in November 2025, performing his 1979 album 'Nosferatu' in full alongside Stranglers classics, with The Courettes as support.
The 'Never Say Goodbye' tour will also extend to Australia in December 2026.
