Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941) was a Polish pianist, composer and statesman. His virtuoso career made him one of the most celebrated musicians of his era, performing across Europe and the Americas. In 1919 he served as the first Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the newly independent Polish state.
