About

Jaya the Cat is a Dutch-American reggae, ska and punk rock band formed in Boston in 1998, now based in Amsterdam. Founded by vocalist and guitarist Geoff Lagadec, the group relocated to the Netherlands after several original members departed in 2003, gradually building one of the most active live reputations on the European club and festival circuit. Their sound blends 1960s and 1970s dub and reggae with punk energy - a style fans and critics have dubbed 'punk reggae' - across five studio albums released between 2001 and 2017.
