About

Jean-Michel Jarre (born 24 August 1948 in Lyon) is a French composer, performer and record producer who pioneered electronic, ambient and new-age music. His 1976 debut Oxygène - recorded in a makeshift home studio - sold an estimated 18 million copies and reshaped how the world heard synthesizers. Beyond his 22 studio albums, he is equally known for staging city-scale outdoor spectacles with lasers and fireworks, having broken the Guinness World Record for concert attendance three times, including a 1997 Moscow performance before 3.5 million people.
