About

Joachim Witt (born 22 February 1949 in Hamburg) is a German rock musician, singer-songwriter and occasional actor whose career spans more than five decades. He broke through in 1981 with "Goldener Reiter", one of the defining singles of the Neue Deutsche Welle, and staged a major comeback in the late 1990s with the Neue Deutsche Härte album Bayreuth 1 and the platinum duet "Die Flut" alongside Wolfsheim singer Peter Heppner. Over 20 solo studio albums he has moved fluidly between NDW, industrial rock and gothic sounds, remaining a fixture of the German dark-rock scene to this day.
