Joe Jackson (born David Ian Jackson, 11 August 1954 in Burton-upon-Trent, England) is a British singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who broke through in 1979 with the new wave hit "Is She Really Going Out with Him?" and followed it with the global Top 10 single "Steppin' Out" in 1982. Over a career spanning more than four decades he has recorded 21 studio albums - ranging from new wave and jazz to classical composition - and earned five Grammy Award nominations. He has lived in New York and Berlin, and remains one of the most stylistically restless figures of his generation.

"Hope and Fury" was recorded at Fuzz Factory Studio in Berlin and Reservoir Studios in New York City, co-produced by Jackson with Patrick Dillett.
